Jonathan Berryhill Appointed POMA Legal Counsel

February 25, 2006 -- The Professional Outdoor Media Association announced the appointment of Jonathan Berryhill as the organization's legal counsel. Berryhill will serve the board or directors and POMA management in an advisory capacity.

Berryhill is the managing partner of Wilson & Berryhill P.C. A native of Birmingham, Berryhill earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Birmingham Southern College in 1993 and his Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law in 1996.

Berryhill is an avid outdoorsman and already has worked with or shared the outdoors with several POMA members. He also served as an advisor to the original steering committee that developed the organizational structure for POMA.

"We will look to Jonathan for advise and guidance as we continue to develop benefits and services and work within the parameters of the non-profit sector."

Berryhill’s practice is principally devoted to civil litigation defense work in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury, automobile and trucking liability, & premises liability. A member of the Alabama State Bar, Berryhill also holds memberships in the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute where he is the State Liason for the Workers' Compensation Section, the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Organization, the Alabama Claims Association, the Workers’ Compensation section of the Alabama State Bar and the Alabama Workers’ Compensation Defense Lawyers Association. With the Birmingham Bar Association, Berryhill served on the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee. He served two terms as a member of the Executive Committee of Young Lawyers Section and has served two terms on the Technology Committee. Berryhill is a member of Manufacture Alabama and a member of the Young Contractors Forum. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama.

While completing law school, Berryhill clerked for the Honorable J. Scott Vowell of the 10th Judicial Circuit and received the 1995 Outstanding Participant Award for Moot Court. He served as a member of the Friends of Scouting (Fund-raising Committee 1999, 2000) and continues as a volunteer with the Greater Alabama District, Boy Scouts of America. He also has worked as a counselor with Alabama Boys State (1997 & 1998).
