PROFESSIONAL OUTDOOR MEDIA ASSOCIATION
ANNOUNCES FUND TO HONOR TIM TUCKER
JOHNSTOWN, Penn., Aug. 22, 2007 – At its recent business
conference at Brooklyn Park, Minn., the
Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA)
announced the creation of the Tim Tucker Outdoor
Communicator Benevolence Fund. Tucker, a
long-time syndicated outdoor communicator,
photographer, book author and a charter member
of POMA, died this summer in an automobile
accident in Florida.
“Tim’s death revealed a need in our industry,”
said John Phillips, a founding member of POMA.
“For a long time we have needed something to
help assist outdoor communicators and their
families in times of need. This fund will go
along way toward filling that need.”
POMA president Judd Cooney is in the process of
forming a committee to establish the selection
process and criteria of eligibility for future
recipients. The annual benefits to qualified
beneficiaries will be determined by income
generated by the restricted endowment fund. POMA
welcomes contributions from individuals,
corporations, foundations and trusts.
Tax-deductible donations may be sent to this
